Cricket South Africa released the Proteas men’s ODI and T20I teams that will go to Sri Lanka for a six-match tour that will take place in Colombo from the 2nd to the 14th of September. The tour will consist of three ODIs and three T20Is.
The Proteas last played last month, when they won a T20I series 3-0 and drew an ODI series 1-1 with Ireland. They had just returned from the West Indies, where they had won the T20I series 3-2 and the Test series 2-0.
The majority of both teams are identical to the one chosen for the Irish trip, however, there are significant differences. After being forced to miss the West Indies and Ireland tours due to medical concerns, Dwaine Pretorius is back in the ODI and T20I teams. Junior Dala has been called up to the ODI squad, but Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the series due to personal reasons. Ngidi is expected to join the team for the T20I series.
Quinton de Kock has been chosen in the T20I squad after being rested from the ODI team while David Miller injured his hamstring in the final T20I against Ireland and will miss the ODI series.
