Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas in next month’s T20 World Cup taking place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman. It will be Bavuma’s first major world event at the helm since his permanent appointment earlier this year.
The Proteas will open their campaign against Australia in the first game of the Super 12 stage at the Abu Dhabi International Cricket Stadium on 23 October.
The squad led Bavuma, does not feature Chris Morris, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir and the in-form Janneman Malan while George Linde, Andile Phehlukwayo and Lizaad Williams were named as reserve players.
