Bet Central’s Moments of the Weekend: 31 July-2 August

The team at Bet Central and watched a lot of sport this weekend so check out our list of things we loved from the sporting weekend.

Aubameyang finish

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inspired Arsenal to a record 14th FA Cup win as the Gunners captain struck twice to beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final at an empty Wembley on Saturday.

Arsenal went 1-0 down but thanks to an ‘Auba’ penalty and then a delightful finish to wrap up the match. It was a finish worthy of silverware and further reinforced his importance to Arsenal.

Another Aotearoa special

Super Rugby Aotearoa is the gift that keeps of giving… every week there is a new try to fawn over and this weekend was no different thanks to the Blues. Finlay Christie finished off a wonderful team move involving a classic Beauden Barrett chip kick with Caleb Clark and Rieko Ioane showing off their handling skills to set up the scrumhalf Christie.

Justin Thomas goes to back to the topΒ

Justin Thomas reclaimed the world number one ranking after fighting off defending champion Brooks Koepka to win the WGC St. Jude Invitational by three strokes.

Thomas started the day four shots off the lead, he shot a five-under-par 65 final round to prevent Koepka from repeating his title at TPC Southwind.

Lewis Hamilton’s dramatic final lap

Lewis Hamilton said his extraordinary three-wheeled win at Silverstone was the most dramatic climax of his career. The six-time world champion was leading from the start but had to drag his Mercedes across the line after blowing his tyre on the final lap.

NBA is BACK!

Fans welcomed the NBA is a festival fo basketball this weekend and while the Raptors beating the Laker is the headline news… there were more than enough superb plays to enjoy from all of the other matches. Enjoy
