Premier League Stat Pack – Gameweek 36

Tuesday 14 July

21:15 – Chelsea v Norwich

Chelsea dropped points in the race to finish third as they fell to a shock 3-0 loss at Sheffield United. The race for the Top 4 is heating up and Chelsea stay in third place by the skin of their teeth after Man United drew last night. Chelsea have won their last 4 home matches and in their last 9 matches, they have seen over 2.5 goals scored.

Norwich’s fate was sealed on Saturday after a thumping 4-0 home defeat at the hands of West Ham. They can at least play without pressure as they seek to shake themselves out of this seven-match losing run. That streak is unlikely to end at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea should bounce back with a victory.

Best Bet: Chelsea to win to zero at 1.52

Wednesday 15 July

19:00 – Newcastle v Tottenham Hotspur

Newcastle are safe from the drop and have suffered back-to-back losses hints at a squad eager to see the end of the season. Although, Newcastle are undefeated in their last 6 home matches. Also, there have been over 2.5 goals scored in Newcastle’s last 4 games.

Spurs are unbeaten in 3 now, picking up 7 points from of 9 despite not playing that well. A 2-1 win in the North London Derby will definitely boost morale as they look end Newcastle’s unbeaten run at home.

Best Bet: BTTS at 1.30

19:00 – Manchester City v Bournemouth

3 Big wins in their last 4 matches has meant Manchester City will likely finish as the league’s top scorers. They’ve now averaged 2.6 goals scored per match and 3 of their last 4 have seen four 4 or more.

At home, their goal-scoring average per match rises to 2.94. They’ve now won 5 matches in a row at the Etihad, all ‘to zero’, and 4 of those covered a -2 handicap. They’ve put an average of 4 goals in Bournemouth’s net across the last 4 meetings.

Bournemouth reignited hope of survival chances with a significant 4-1 win against Leicester. It was the third time in 4 league rounds that their match saw both teams score and at least 5 goals. Across their last 5 matches, Bournemouth have scored over 80% of their goals after HT.

Best Bet: Manchester City to win to zero at 1.80

19:00 – Burnley v Wolves

Burnley are 5 points off fifth-place Wolves with 3 games to go. To keep up their slender chance of Europa League football alive, they must win and hope other results aide their chances. Burnley might be unbeaten in their last 5 matches but they have scored more than 1 goal. Burnley have seen under 2.5 goals scored in Burnley’s last 5 games.

After Manchester City successfully overturned their 2-year Champions League ban, Wolves must now finish in the top 4 to qualify for the competition next season. They must finish the season with 3 straight wins and also hope other results go their way. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Wolves last 3 away games.

Best Bet: Under 0.5 goals at 2.35

21:15 – Arsenal v Liverpool

A 2-1 loss in the North London derby meant Arsenal are 5 points away from Europa League qualification with 3 matches left to play. Arsenal have also failed to beat Liverpool in the league in 9 attempts (D4, L5). 7 of those 9 clashes saw both teams score while the sides average 4.33 total goals per match. At the Emirates, Arsenal are unbeaten in 7 matches (W5, D2), while also keeping 4 clean sheets.

Held to a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Anfield, Liverpool have not yet to failed to win twice in a row this campaign. Liverpool are undefeated in their last 10 matches against Arsenal and have scored at least 3 goals in 8 of their last 9 matches against them.

Best Bet: Liverpool to win at 1.86

Thursday 16 June

19:00 – Leicester City v Sheffield United

Leicester’s struggles continue with a run of two wins in 11 which has seen them lose third spot, a spot they seemed to have had a long-term lease for. With Manchester United and potentially Wolves breathing down their necks, Leicester need results to qualify for the lucrative Champions League spot. At least, they have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 home matches and have won their last 4 matches against Sheffield United.

Sheffield United began the restart with a 3-match winless run, but are now unbeaten in 4 and could push for that Europa Leauge berth because they are a point behind Wolves. They’ll be confident of making it 4 wins from their last 5 at the King Power Stadium.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals at 1.71

19:00 – Everton v Aston Villa

Everton were beaten 3-0 by Wolves and Carlo Ancelotti will hope for a response here despite sitting in 11th and not having much to play for. Everton are undefeated in their last 10 home matches and have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 6 home matches against Aston Villa.

Villa’s mission is clear, they must win 2 if not all of their last 3 matches to even have a chance of avoiding relegation. They picked up a massive 3 points (2-0) against Crystal Palace after both West Ham and Watford won themselves.

Best Bet: BTTS and over 2.5 goals at 2.15

21:15 – Crystal Palace v Manchester United

Crystal Palace have lost 5 matches on the trot after confirming their Premier League status, they only scored in 1 of those matches. Crystal Palace have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches.

Manchester United must rue their missed opportunity to go third on Monday night Southampton scored a very late equalizer (2-2). Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may rest some key players with one eye on Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea. Man Utd are undefeated in their last 11 matches and have won their last 3 away matches against Crystal Palace.

Best Bet: Manchester United to win and over 2.5 goals at 2.00

21:15 – Southampton v Brighton

Southampton are unbeaten in 4 which includes a win against Manchester City and most recently a 2-2 draw with Manchester United. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Southampton’s last 4 home games.

Brighton have lost 3 of their last 4, those losses were to Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City. Brighton are not mathematically safe but they are 5 points clear of relegation with 3 games to go so they should be good. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Brighton’s last 4 away games.

Best Bet: Southampton win at 2.25

Friday 17 June

21:00 – West Ham v Watford

This is a proverbial ‘six-pointer’ which will impact the relegation fight. The stakes are high as a win for either side would probably ensure their Premier League status. West Ham confirmed Norwich’s relegation with a 4-0 win while Watford came from behind to beat Newcastle 2-1 which was their second straight victory.

Finishing with matches against Manchester City and Arsenal, Watford knows their best chance of a win from their last 3 matches is against West Ham. Watford have failed to score in their last 4 away matches.

A loss for the Hammers wouldn’t be the end of the world but would leave them potentially needing a result against Aston Villa on the final day of the season, with a trip to Old Trafford in their penultimate game. West Ham have scored 7 goals in their last 2 meetings with Watford, though lost 2-0 to them when they last hosted them.

Best Bet: Draw at 3.00
