Lazio v Napoli (Saturday 11 January, 19:00)

Overview

Third-placed Lazio take on a struggling Napoli side this weekend who sit in eight paced on the Serie A log. Lazio have yet to lose in Rome this season. Napoli are not great travellers, accumulating 13 points out of a possible 27 this season on the road. Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso’s has struggled since taking over from the sacked Carlo Ancelotti. Napoli have won just one match from their last six away league matches and are missing star defender Kalidou Koulibaly, his absence has been felt.

However, the visitors are unbeaten at this venue in their last eight visits so they can take some confidence from that.

Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool (Saturday 11 January, 19:30)

The highlight of the Premier League weekend, Spurs are an unbelievable 28 points behind Liverpool, but just six points behind a top-four spot so there is a lot to play for on Saturday. They’ve won four of their last five competitive home matches, and there’s been an average of 4.2 total goals per game during this period.

Overall, however, Tottenham have won just one of their last five competitive matches and Mourinho is under pressure to get them back on track after a great start. This box office fixture could be just what Spurs need.

Conclusion

In their last four head to head league matches, there have been 3 draws. Both teams have outstanding defences, Madrid also have a much better attack with the talented Atletico struggling to fire in front of goal this season. (Draw after 90 minutes at 2.25)

Unfortunately for Madrid, it seems Garteh Bale and Karim Benzema might be out of action so a lot of emphasis with fall on a young Madrid attack to unlock a tight Atletico defence (Real Madrid to win at 1.20)

Despite struggling to score, Atletico are still on a 3-match wining streak in the league and showed a serios amount of grit and character to overcome Barcelona (Atletico to win 2.20).
